Marc Roca Junqué (born November 26, 1996 in Vilafranca del Penedès ) is a Spanish football player who is currently under contract with the first division club Espanyol Barcelona . He occupies the position of " six " both in the club and in the Spanish U-21 national team .

Career

Roca joined Espanyol Barcelona's youth team in 2008 , having previously played for the amateur club Atlètic Vilafranca. On August 24, 2014 (1st matchday) he made his debut in the second team when he was used in the 2-2 home game against Lleida Esportiu from the start and up to the 71st minute. He scored his first goal for Espanyol B on January 17, 2015 (21st matchday) in the 3-2 defeat in the home game against UE Olot with the goal to make it 2-0 in the 40th minute. On August 4, 2015 his he signed a new two-year contract.

On August 26, 2016 (2nd matchday) he made his debut for the first team in a 2-2 draw at the home RCDE Stadium against FC Málaga . On November 11, 2016, he signed a new working paper, with his contract term extended to June 30, 2022. In the following season 2017/18 he moved up to the professional team. During this season, however, he was mostly only a reserve player and only made eight appearances in the league . In the 2018/19 season he became a regular in the central midfield after the loan from Carlos Sánchez . On April 21, 2019 (33rd matchday) he scored his first competitive goal for Espanyol's first team in a 2.2 draw in the away game against UD Levante with the goal to make it 2-1. At the end of the season he had played 40 competitive games for Espanyol. In the 2019/20 season he played 35 league games and relegated to the second-rate Segunda División with Espanyol .

National team

Roca played an international match for the Spanish U-19 national team . He has been working for the U21s since September 2018 . He made his debut in the selection of this age group on September 11, 2018 in Albacete in the 1: 2 loss to Northern Ireland .

He made his debut for the Catalan football team on December 28, 2016 when he completed the first half in a friendly against Tunisia . The game ended in a 5-7 defeat on penalties .
