Oier Olazábal Paredes (born September 14, 1989 in Irun , Gipuzkoa ) is a Spanish football goalkeeper who is under contract with UD Levante .

Career

Oier joined FC Barcelona youth academy at the age of 17. Olazábal, who was previously active with his hometown club Real Unión Irún , got a contract until 2012. At Barcelona he was first substitute goalkeeper for Rubén Martínez in the second team. In the cup game against CD Alcoyano in January 2008, he played for the first team for the first time. The Basque made his league debut on the third last match day of the 2008/09 season , when Barcelona were already champions, in the league game against RCD Mallorca (1: 2).

In the 2009/10 season Olazábal rose with FC Barcelona B in the Segunda División . Between 2010/11 and 2011/12 he guarded the gate alternating with Rubén Miño and Jordi Masip . In February 2012, Oier extended his contract to 2015. For the 2013/14 season, he moved up to the first team.

For the 2014/15 season, Olazábal moved to Granada CF on a free transfer one year before the end of the contract . His debut for Granada gave Oier on 16 Match against Getafe . The game ended 1-1. He also kept the box in the following 13 games. After a 9-1 defeat by Real Madrid on April 5, 2015, he had to give up his seat to Roberto Fernández . In the summer of 2015, he was loaned to league rival Real Sociedad San Sebastián for a year . There he was Gerónimo Rulli's substitute and was only used three times.

After his return to Granada in the summer of 2016, he couldn't get past the new number one Guillermo Ochoa . In January 2017 he was loaned to UD Levante in the Segunda División for half a year . He came to the end of the 2016/17 season five times and rose with his club. He was then firmly signed by Levante. In November 2017, he replaced Raúl Fernández in goal.
