Marina Gennadjewna Kupzowa ( Russian Марина Геннадьевна Купцова , English transcription Marina Kuptsova ; born December 22, 1981 in Moscow ) is a Russian high jumper .

Life

Kupzowa was already able to celebrate international successes in the junior classes. So she won the gold medal at the Junior World Championships in Annecy in 1998 and the silver medal two years later at the same event in Santiago de Chile . Also in 2000 Kuptsowa took part in the Olympic Games in Sydney .

Medals at major international events in the active class followed in 2002 and 2003. At the European Indoor Championships in Vienna in 2002 , Kupzowa won with a still current personal best of 2.03 m. In the summer of the same year, 1.92 m was enough for the silver medal behind Kajsa Bergqvist at the European Championships in Munich .

Kupzowa also took second place with 2.00 m at the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis behind Hestrie Cloete and level with the third Bergqvist. In the same year Kupzowa also won the national championships.

After an injury to the Achilles tendon in 2004, Kupzowa could no longer build on her old performance level.
