Martin Samuel

Martin Samuel (also Martin Samuels ) is a film hairdresser who has been involved in over 50 film and television productions since the beginning of his career in the mid-1970s. He has been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Make-up and Best Hairstyles , three Emmys and four British Academy Film Awards for Best Mask , one of which he won in 2004 .

Life

Samuel was trained in London and initially worked as a salon hairdresser. He came to the film industry through work for commercials. He moved to Los Angeles for his first film, Stardust . After working in New Mexico and Great Britain as well as a European tour with David Bowie , Samuel took a break from the film business after 1983 and opened a hair salon and a clothing store in England . In 1991 he returned to film with Under Suspicion . He now lives and works in Los Angeles again with his wife Mary and their two children.
