Matti Justus Schindehütte (born Lembke ; born April 19, 1975 in Hamburg ) is a German pastor and Protestant theologian .

Life

Matti Schindehütte was born in Hamburg - Altona and grew up as the youngest of three pastor children in the parishes of Halstenbek - Rellingen - Krupunder . His parents are Pastor Dr. Ingo Lembke and Marjatta Lembke-Seppälä ( textile designer ).

After graduating from the Julius Leber School in Hamburg- Schnelsen , he did his community service in the Diakonisches Werk Hamburg. Before his studies, he worked as a steward in the "Seafarers & International House" in Manhattan / New York for three months .

Schindehütte is married to Pastor Dr. Katrin Schindehütte . You have four children.

As a candidate for the Northern Church , Schindehütte studied Protestant theology (1996–2001) at the University of Hamburg and at the Georg-August University of Göttingen , where he lived on a scholarship at the Theological Foundation . With the beginning of his apprenticeship as a pastor, Schindehütte moved back home, his wife to Northern Hesse and completed his vicariate in the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck ( Wellerode 2006-2008).

In the years 2008-2020 he worked as a Protestant pastor in the parish of Elnhausen . He was theological director of studies at the Parish Convention in Marburg / Land (2010–2014), vicar mentor in the training service and member of the Chamber for Mission and Ecumenism (2010–2016, focus: Islam).

For the period 2014-2020, Schindehütte was elected by the synod as deputy dean in the parish of Marburg . During this time he was involved in the pilot year of volunteer coordination in 2014 and the pilot project "Weddings in Event Gastronomy" (2015-2017) in cooperation with Dammühle and Hofgut Dagobertshausen .

Politics / engagement

As a member of the Green Alternative List Hamburg (1999-2006), Schindehütte was deputy parliamentary group chairman in the Altona district assembly (2001-2004). As a member of the district board, he signed the cooperation agreement with the CDU (2004–2008) and was one of the pioneers for the first black-green coalition in Hamburg in 2008.

Schindehütte has been chairman of the board of Kerstin Heim eV since 2011 , a diaconal organization in Hesse, founded by Tom Mutters in 1962 , with a boarding school and school for the care and individual support of children and young people with intellectual disabilities .

As an appointed member, he also decides on the fundamental issues of the blista Deutsche Blindenstudienanstalt , the nationwide competence center for people with blindness and visual impairment.

In the summer of 2017 Schindehütte became a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU). Before joining, I had a growing closeness to people like Stefan Heck .
