Mauban is a Filipino township in Quezon Province , Administrative Region IV, Calabarzon. It has 63,819 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who lived in 40 barangays . It is classified as the first income class community in the Philippines.
Mauban is on the east coast of Lamon Bay . Its neighboring communities are Tayabas City and Sampaloc in the west and Atimonan in the southeast and it borders Real in the north . The island Cabalete is owned by the municipality of Mauban from.
The genus of wax flowers belonging to the subspecies of the silk plant family , Hoya pubicalyx was collected in the vicinity of the community in 1913 by M. Ramos and GE Edaño and first described by Elmer Drew Merrill in 1918 in the Philippine Journal of Science. To the south of the parish is the Binahaan River Watershed Forest Reserve .
