Gumaca is a Filipino township in Quezon Province , Administrative Region IV, Calabarzon. It has 73,877 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who lived in 59 barangays . It is classified as the first income class community in the Philippines.
Gumaca is located in the south of Lamon Bay , on the coast of which there are smaller mangrove forests . Their neighboring communities are Atimonan and Plaridel in the west, Pitogo and Unisan in the south, and Lopez in the east. The topography of the city is characterized by flat , hilly and mountainous landscapes.
Gumaca is connected to the Bicol region and the metropolitan metropolitan area of Metro Manila by the Maharlika Highway and by rail . The daily rail connections are operated by the Philippine National Railways .
