Tagkawayan is a Filipino township in Quezon Province , Administrative Region IV, Calabarzon. It has 51,832 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who lived in 45 barangays . It is classified as the first income class community in the Philippines.
Tagkawayan is located at the head of the Gulf of Ragay , on the coast of which there are small mangrove forests . Their neighboring communities are Guinayangan in the west, Calauag in the northwest, Labo in the north and Del Gallego in the east. The topography of the city is characterized by flat , hilly and mountainous landscapes.
There is a regular rail link between Manila and Tagkawayan, operated by the Philippine National Railways .
