Alabat is a Philippine municipality in the province of Quezon .

The municipality of Alabat is located about 160 km southeast of Manila , on the island of the same name, Alabat , which lies off the northeast coast of Luzon in the Bay of Lamon . To protect natural resources, the Alabat Watershed Forest Reserve was established in 1987.

origin of the name
The name Alabat derives from the Tagalese word alabat for balustrade , which was attached by the early residents at the entrances of the huts so that small children do not fall down the houses on stilts, which can only be reached via ladders.
