Calauag is a Philippine municipality in the province of Quezon . It has 73,139 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census). The community is located south of Lamon Bay and is accessible from Manila and the Bicol region via the Marhalika Highway .
Calauag also has a railway stop , which connects the community with the Bicol region and the metropolitan area of Metro Manila . The daily rail connections are operated by the Philippine National Railways . The nature reserves Calauag Watershed Reservation and parts of the Lopez Watershed Forest Reserve lie within the territory of the municipality .
