Mernoq [ ˈmɜnːɔq ] (according to the old spelling Mernoĸ ) is a deserted Greenlandic settlement in the district of Upernavik in the Avannaata Kommunia .

Mernoq is located in the northwest of the island of the same name . At the southern tip of the island is the abandoned settlement of Kuuk . From Mernoq it is 26 km south to Nutaarmiut .
history
Mernoq was settled between 1850 and 1887. Until 1906, the place was the northernmost North Greenland , until places further north were settled. Shortly after, but before 1918, Mernoq was abandoned. No further information is known about the place of residence.
