The Malmen Airport (Swedish: Malmens flygplats ) is a Swedish military airfield near the southern Swedish city of Linkoping in County Östergötland . Established in 1913, it is one of the oldest airports in the country. The F 3 Malmslätt squadron was stationed here from 1926 to 1974 , after which the airfield was initially operated under the command of the F 13 Norrköping and F 16 Uppsala units without its own unit. In 1998 the helicopter fleet was stationed in Malmen, followed in 2003 by the training squadron, equipped with Saab 105 .
The Swedish Air Force Museum is also located on the airport grounds.
The airport has two intersecting lanes, the longer of which is 2,214 meters. An instrument landing system of the simplest category on runway 19 as well as approaches using a non-directional radio beacon (NDB) on runways 19 and 01 are available as approach aids for instrument approaches .
