The Hemavan Airport ( IATA code : HMV , ICAO code : ESUT ) is an airport near the Swedish town Hemavan in the province County Västerbotten .

In the 1960s, a glider airfield was built on the site of today's airport . In 1993 it was expanded to become a regional airport. The first flights were carried out in 1994. There used to be a flight to and from Stockholm / Arlanda Airport six days a week . The flights were carried out with smaller turboprop aircraft such as the Saab 340 or the BAe ATP . In 2016, the airport was used by 14,302 passengers. The airline Nextjet , which had regularly offered flights, ceased operations on May 16, 2018 due to the company's insolvency.
