The Arboga Airport ( Swedish : Arboga Flygplats , ICAO code : ESQO) is a military airfield near Arboga , Sweden .
location
The airfield is located southeast of the city center, on the opposite side of the Arbogaån river at a height of 10 m AMSL . It can be reached via Europastraße 20 .
Flight operations and infrastructure
The airfield has a 2000 m long, 40 m wide asphalt runway with the orientation 15/33. As a military airfield ( PPR ) with restricted civil flight operations, it is only approved for flights according to visual flight rules (VFR).
history
From July 11th to 25th, 2011, the airfield was the venue for the women's glider world championship, in which aircraft in the 15-meter , club and standard competition classes took off. In addition to the Swedish Gliding Association , the local Arboga Flygklubb was also the organizer .
Before the world championship, the world championship for model gliders of the F3K class took place from July 3 to 10, 2011 .
