The Växjö / Kronoberg Airport ( IATA code: VXO , ICAO code: esMX ; proper name Vaxjo Airport ) is a Swedish airport in the south of Småland . It is located about 6 kilometers northwest of Växjös city ​​center .

55% of the airport belongs to the county council of Kronobergs län , 42% to the municipality of Växjö and 3% to the municipality of Alvesta . It is therefore managed as a municipal stock corporation.

The control tower is one of the most modern in Sweden and was refurbished in 2000. The runway was extensively renovated in 1997 for around 4.3 million euros, so that a precision approach on runway 19 as well as an approach on runway 01 supported by NDB and LLZ is possible.
