The Netze is a 10.8 km long, northern and orographically left tributary of the Eder in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district in North Hesse ( Germany ).

course

The Netze rises in the Netzehügelland west of the Old Forest , the southern part of the Waldecker Forest . Its source is around 500 m north of Netze , a district of Waldeck . It is located a little north of the disused Ederseebahn ( Korbach - Bad Wildungen ), which was converted into the Ederseebahn cycle path after its closure in 1995 between Korbach and Buhlen , at about 315  m above sea level. NHN .

In a predominantly southerly direction, the network runs just outside the southwestern border of the Habichtswald Nature Park in the east and below Waldeck a little bit along the northeastern border of the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park in the southwest.

About 200 m below its origin, the Netze takes up two streams that have joined shortly before and that flow from the Old Forest from the north. At Netze, it crosses twice under the Ederseebahn cycle path, and after flowing through the village along the cycle path and the B 485, it runs slightly southwest towards the Waldecker core town. A few hundred meters east of the city, the stream turns first to the southeast and then to the south and takes in the Steinbach coming from the northeast.

After this, the Netze flows - without going through the Waldecker core city - east past the Hofwüstung Bodenhausen and at the Ederseebahn stop “Waldeck-Ost” in the direction of Buhlen , after flowing through this Edertal district to the southeast. About 1.5 km southeast of the village, like the B 485, it is bridged by the Buhlener Viadukt , a bridge of the former Ederseebahn.

Finally, the networks, the zoom flowing from north-northeast Esch trench flows through picking up, to flours (municipality part of Eder) associated with residential development Lieschensruh to near the southern edge in the Wegaer Ederaue between the Eder river kilometers 42.1 and 42 in the there coming from the west Fulda - inflow Eder to lead .
