Neuses (Franconian: Neusich) is the second largest district of Kronach in the district of the same name in the Bavarian administrative district of Upper Franconia .

The place joins the district town of Kronach in the south of the Rodach valley .

history

The first mention was in an Urbar (directory) of the bishopric Bamberg from 1323 to 1328.

On May 1, 1978 the community of Neuses including the Einödhöfe Neusesermühle and Zollschneidmühle was incorporated into the district town of Kronach. The former municipal area corresponds in extent to today's district of Neuses.

From 1914 to 1995 the Neuses – Weißenbrunn railway ran through Neuses . Today the federal highway 173 leads west and the federal highway 85 east of the place; Mainly regional trains of the Deutsche Bahn stop at Neuseser Bahnhof on the route from Lichtenfels to Saalfeld . The Franconian Marienweg runs through the village .

Catholic parish church of St. Sebastian

St. Sebastian

The Catholic parish church of St. Sebastian was built in 1932 according to plans by the Munich architect Peter Holzbauer and consecrated on September 17, 1933 by the Archbishop of Bamberg, Jacobus von Hauck .

Since 1959, Dr. Schneider Unternehmensgruppe , an automotive supplier with plastic products, has its headquarters in Neuses. In 2016, the main plant employed 1,300 people.

The rafting association organizes raft trips on the trail of this branch of the economy that was once important for the region. The 1st Neusiche Klüeßverein has set itself the goal of promoting the enjoyment of the Franconian potato dumpling .
