Nonnenmühle is a district of the market Uehlfeld in the Middle Franconian district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim .
geography
The wasteland lies on the Weisach , a left tributary of the Aisch , and on the Kressengraben , which flows into the Weisach as a left tributary. Approx. The Kuckuck forest is 0.5 km to the northwest, and the Rote Berg rises approx. 1 km to the south. The district road NEA 1 leads to Tragelhöchstädt (1.3 km to the west) or to Uehlfeld to the federal road 470 (1 km to the east).
history
Originally the nun mill was part of Nonndorf. In the Second Margrave War (1552) Nonndorf was destroyed. Only the mill was rebuilt. The age of the nun mill, the former oldest building in the hamlet, could be dated to 1682 according to a dendrochronological investigation. There was also evidence in the archives of the mill's existence prior to the Thirty Years' War.
Towards the end of the 18th century there was an estate in Nonnenmühle. The high court exercised the central office of Höchstadt of the Hochstift Bamberg , but this was disputed by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office in Dachsbach . The mill had the cathedral chapter Bamberg as landlord .
As part of the community edict, Nonnenmühle was assigned to the Uehlfeld tax district formed in 1811, and from 1813 it belonged to the Uehlfeld rural community . With the second community edict (1818) it was assigned to the newly formed rural community of Tragelhöchstädt . In 1948 the place was reassembled to Uehlfeld.
The mill itself has not been inhabited since 1984. It was dismantled in 2013 and will soon be rebuilt on the museum grounds of the open air museum Bad Windsheim .
