Pambio-Noranco is a quarter of the city of Lugano in the Lugano West district , in the Lugano district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland .

geography

The two hamlets of Pambio and Noranco are at 325 m. ü. M. at the foot of the Collina d'Oro in the middle of beautiful meadows; three kilometers southwest of the Lugano train station and is close to the Lugano Süd motorway junction.

history

The village was first mentioned as Pamio in 1198 . Old parish of the parish of San Pietro Pambio; it merged with Noranco in 1904; the current parish is called Pambio-Noranco.

Community merger

It was a municipality for a hundred years, from 1904 to 2004. It emerged from the merger of Pambio and Noranco and, with the large incorporation, merged with Breganzona , Cureggia , Davesco-Soragno , Gandria , Pazzallo , Pregassona and Viganello in the city of Lugano.
