New Slovenia - Christian People's Party (Slov. Nova Slovenija Krščanska ljudska stranka , abbreviation: NSi ) is a political party in Slovenia. She is a member of the European People's Party . The current chairman is Lyudmila Novak . Its first chairman was former Slovenian Prime Minister Andrej Bajuk , who resigned when the party failed to make it into parliament in the 2008 elections. The party has been represented in parliament again since the 2011 elections.

Members of the NSi in the Slovenian Parliament:

New Slovenia was founded in 2000 by members of the Slovenian Christian Democrats (SKD) who did not agree to their party's unification with the Slovenian People's Party (Slovenska ljudska stranka SLS) .

In the parliamentary elections in 2000, the party received 8.7% of the vote and 8 seats. In the parliamentary elections in 2004 she achieved a share of the vote of 9.1% and was represented by 9 out of 90 members in the Slovenian National Assembly ( Državni zbor ). In the 2008 elections it remained below the threshold of 4% with 3.4% of the vote and was no longer represented in parliament. In the early elections in 2011, according to the preliminary final result, she was able to return to parliament with 4.8% of the vote and 4 seats.
