The men's 3,000-meter team run at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris was held on July 11th and 13th, 1924 in the Stade de Colombes . Twenty athletes took part in nine teams. This discipline was held for the third and last time at the Olympic Games.
The Finnish team became Olympic champions. Silver went to Great Britain, bronze to the USA.
A special feature was that the round stadium in the Stade de Colombes was 500 meters long.
Conducting the competition
Two preliminary runs were completed on July 11th. The two best teams qualified for the final, which took place on July 13th.
As in all earlier Olympic events of this race, the ranking was determined by adding up the individual placements, i.e. the number of places, whereby the best three runners of each team were included in the ranking - ranking 1 = 1 point, ranking 2 = 2 points, etc. All other runners in the team were not taken into account. The ranking was based on the lowest possible number of points.
Note: The teams qualified for the next round are highlighted in light blue. The runners not considered for the award of points are written in italics.

Finland won this competition superiorly. Paavo Nurmi and Ville Ritola, by far the best track long distance athletes in these games, also took first and second place with a clear lead. Her team mate Elias Katz came in fifth. Behind them, too, there was a clear ranking with the British in second place and the USA in third place.
Paavo Nurmi won the eighth of nine gold medals in his career here. It was also the fifth that he won in Paris.
For Ville Ritola this was his fourth gold medal in Paris. Another was to follow in 1928 .
