South Korea took part in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London with a delegation of 46 athletes (45 men and one woman) in 24 competitions in seven sports. It was South Korea's first participation in the Summer Olympics.

The South Korean athletes won two bronze medals. The boxer Han Soo-an took third place in the flyweight division, as did the weightlifter Kim Seong-jip in the middleweight division.
