Openair on the Bundesplatz
The Openair on Bundesplatz is a one-day music festival in Bern .
history
The international open-air festival "Rock gegen Hass" from 1992 to 1997 in Lengnau (AG) and on the Platzspitz in Zurich, as well as in Leipzig (DE) and on the Piazza Grande in Locarno with Ursy and Sidney Weill as initiators and organizers, as well as Ellen Ringier, as president of the association at the time and the Youth Foundation for Acceptance and Tolerance, made a significant contribution to the development of Open Hearts and the Openair on the Bundesplatz. The Openair on the Bundesplatz has been a music festival that has been held annually on the Bundesplatz in Bern since 2006 in the run-up to the national holiday . In contrast to most music festivals in Switzerland, the open air on the Bundesplatz is not commercial, but rather socially oriented and free for visitors. In recent years, the Open Air on Bundesplatz has attracted around 15,000 spectators.
Under the motto “a Switzerland with a heart”, the open air on the Bundesplatz is dedicated to a specific political issue every year. In 2013 the festival was dominated by the International Year of Cooperation in the Field of Water .
Since it was founded in 2006, the Open Air has been organized by the association and the event agency Open Hearts of the same name , as well as by numerous political parties, associations and organizations in various compositions. Annual partners in 2013 were Green Cross Switzerland and the SDC . In 2014 the open air will take place on July 30th.
program
The core program consists of bands that mainly come from the rock and (alternative) pop scene. The latest newcomers from the Swiss music scene are always there , and comedians also made regular appearances on Bundesplatz, for example in 2009 Ursus and Nadeschkin and 2010 Michael Elsener .
