The East Timorese-Romanian relations describe the interstate relationship between East Timor and Romania .

history

During the Indonesian occupation of East Timor, the East Timorese Mário Viegas Carrascalão was Indonesia's ambassador to Romania from 1993 to 1997.

East Timor and Romania established diplomatic relations on December 20, 2002. Romania participated with police forces in the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT).

In November 2018, the Romanian Ambassador at Large Daniela Gîtman visited East Timor and also met President Francisco Guterres .

diplomacy

East Timor does not have a diplomatic mission in Romania. The Permanent Mission of East Timor to the European Union in Brussels is responsible .

Romania has no diplomatic representation in Dili . The Romanian embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia is responsible .

economy

For 2018, the East Timor Statistics Office does not indicate any trade relations between East Timor and Romania.

Entry requirements

Romanian passport holders have been able to enter East Timor without a visa for a period not exceeding 90 days since 2015, regardless of the purpose of the trip. For East Timorese there is no visa in Romania.
