The East Timorese U-23 national soccer team is a selection team of East Timorese soccer players . It is subordinate to the East Timorese Football Association FFTL and represents it internationally at the U-23 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, at U-23 Asian championships and the football tournaments of the Summer Olympic Games , the Asian Games and the Southeast Asian Games .
So far, the team has not been able to qualify for the Olympic football tournament or the U-23 Asian Cup. East Timor took part in the Asian Games twice and in the Southeast Asian Games five times, but never got beyond the group stage in both.
Eligible to play are players who have not yet reached the age of 23 and who are East Timorese citizens .
