To the north of Parque Chacabuco is Caballito , to the east is Boedo , to the south is Nueva Pompeya and to the west of the Flores district . The district is predominantly residential, characterized by low-rise single and multi-family houses and little commercial activity.
Part of Parque Chacabuco, along Av. Eva Perón, Carabobo, Av. Castañares and Av. La Plata is also known as "Corea Town" due to the large number of Korean immigrants . There are two cultural centers in the district, the Centro Cultural Sebastián Piana on Av. La Plata 1151 and the Centro Cultural Enríque Santos Discépolo on Av. La Plata 2193. There are also several sports clubs in Parque Chacabuco.
Parque Chacabuco got its name from the park of the same name, which is located in the district. The name recalls the Battle of Chacabuco on February 12, 1817, which was part of the Chilean War of Independence.
The district day is May 15th.
