Patrick Joseph "Patch" Alber (born March 11, 1989 in Clifton Park , New York ) is an American - German ice hockey player . He is currently under contract with the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

Career

Patch Alber began his career with his high school team at Shenendehowa High, for which he played two years before moving to Northwood School Preparatory, for which he also played two seasons. The young Alber made it to Boston in 2007 , where he played for the Boston Bruins youth team , the Boston Jr. Bruins. In 2009 he began to study at Boston College and played there in the NCAA for the college team.

After graduating, the defender started his professional career at ECHL , where he played for 4 different teams between 2013 and 2018: Elmira Jackals , Missouri Mavericks , Adirondack Thunder and Kansas City Mavericks .

For the 2018/19 season he moved to Germany to the Eispiraten Crimmitschau , for which he only played 19 games before he was awarded as a cooperation partner in Bremerhaven . Alber has been under contract with Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven since the 2019/20 season .
