Paul Stephen Ranheim (born January 25, 1966 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is a former American ice hockey player and current coach who played 1049 games for the Calgary Flames , Hartford Whalers , Carolina Hurricanes , Philadelphia Flyers and Phoenix Coyotes in the National Hockey League on the position of left winger has denied.
Career
Paul Ranheim began his career in 1984 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the National Collegiate Athletic Association and was active for the team for four years. He then went to the Salt Lake Golden Eagles in the International Hockey League on the ice, where he scored 105 points in 89 games for Salt Lake. Ranheim had already been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1984 by the Calgary Flames in the second round in 38th position, for which he also ran five times in his first professional season.
He was part of the Flames' squad for six years and remained with the team in the play-offs without significant success, as the team was eliminated from the competition in three appearances in the first round and could not qualify three more times. From 1993 to 1997 he went on the ice for the Hartford Whalers and from 1997 to 2000 for the Carolina Hurricanes . Although he was one of the top performers of his respective teams during almost his entire career and played over 1,000 NHL games, he never got with a team beyond the first play-off round.
The Philadelphia Flyers and Phoenix Coyotes stations followed . Then he ended his career. In 2011, he began working as an assistant coach on the high school ice hockey program at St. Louis Park High School . After two years he moved to the Eden Prairie High School in the same position .
