Peter Knaack
Peter Knaack (born 1968 in Königstein im Taunus ) is a German actor .
Life
Knaack completed his acting training from 1990 to 1993 at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich .
He received his first engagement from 1993 to 1996 at the Städtische Bühnen Freiburg . He was then firmly committed to the Mannheim National Theater until 1999 . After further positions at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg , the Zurich Schauspielhaus and the Berlin Maxim-Gorki-Theater , he appeared for the first time in 2001 at the Hanover Theater , of which he was a permanent ensemble from 2004 to 2009. Here he was seen in productions by Barbara Bürk , Jürgen Gosch and Rafael Sanchez, among others. Directed by Sebastian Nübling , he played in Hanover in Mamma Medea , Wilde - The Man with Sad Eyes and in Shakespeare's What you want , he also took on leading roles in the Peter Kastenmüller production of Ödön von Horváth's Zur Schöne Aussicht and in the Nicolas Stemann dramatization of Kurt Vonnegut's Schlachthof 5 or The Children's Crusade . In David Marton's combination production of Frank Wedekind's monstrous tragedies - Earth Spirit and Pandora's Box - and Alban Berg's opera Lulu , based on it , he played the role of Dr. Nice. This production was also shown at the Dresden State Theater in 2010.
With the 2009-10 season, when Matthias Hartmann took over as director , Knaack became a member of the Vienna Burgtheater ensemble. He was u. a. involved in productions by Luc Bondy , Alvis Hermanis , Stephan Kimmig and Roland Schimmelpfennig . Stefan Bachmann's production of the Natascha Kampusch play The Participants was invited to the 2011 Berlin Theatertreffen . In Hartmann's direction the actor was u. a. to be seen in Faust 2 , furthermore in the Botho-Strauss premiere Das blind Geschehen and in Tolstoy's War and Peace , which were awarded a Nestroy Special Prize.
In the 2013-14 season, Knaack was heard twice as a reader in Burg productions of the contemporary witness production The Last Witnesses by Doron Rabinovici and Matthias Hartmann , which was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen 2014, as well as in Katie Mitchell's dramatization of Handke's story Desperate Ungluck in the casino on Schwarzenbergplatz .
Knaack made his debut in front of the camera in 1997 in the television film Mein Kind muss Leben . Since then he has been seen in numerous supporting roles in TV series such as Doppelter Einsatz (2001), St. Angela , Das Duo und Drei mit Herz (all 2002), and Ein Fall für Zwei (2007). In 2007, he was the male lead in one episode of the series In All Friendship , in the Tatort episode Erntedank e. V. he took over the role of Moritz Zacher in 2008. Knaack was also seen in television games such as Bargeld laughs (2000, director: Hajo Gies ) and Die Rosenkrieger 2 (2004, director: Ulrich Stark ).
In the cinema, Knaack was seen in a supporting role in Carsten Fiebeler's youth film Kleinruppin forever (2004) and as an insolvency administrator in Christian Petzold's multi-award-winning feature film Yella (2008). He also played leading roles in Tanja Brzakovic's short film Wedding Day (2001) and in her horror film Geisterstunde (2006). In Rudolf Thome's relationship story The Red Room (2010) he embodied the kiss researcher Fred, in Marvin Kren's thriller Blood Glacier (2013) he again played a leading role.
