Petr Fical (born September 23, 1977 in Jindřichův Hradec , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech - German ice hockey player who has played eleven seasons in the German ice hockey league .
Career
Petr Fical grew up in Czechoslovakia, but came to Germany as a teenager, where he began his ice hockey career at EC Pfaffenhofen and continued successfully at EHC Straubing . After engagements in Deggendorf and Regensburg , as well as a short return to the Czech Republic, the right-handed shooter received a contract with Moskitos Essen in the German Ice Hockey League in 2001/02 . After a year in Essen, the winger moved to the Iserlohn Roosters for another season . For the 2003/04 season Fical signed a contract with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , with whom he first reached the play-off quarter-finals three times in a row . In the 2006/07 season, the attacker lost to the Nuremberg team in the final against Adler Mannheim . Even during the financial problems of Nuremberg, Fical remained loyal to the club and went into his seventh season with the Ice Tigers in the 2009/10 season . From the 2010/11 season, Fical is under contract with ERC Ingolstadt - he signed a two-year contract with the Panthers. After the contract expired, he moved to the upper division EV Regensburg .
International
At the World Cup of Hockey 2004 Fical celebrated a belated debut in the German national team . He received additional assignments for the DEB selection at the World Championships in 2005 and 2006 , where he was relegated or promoted directly with the team. He also played for Germany at the 2006 Olympic Games .
Coaching career
From 2012 to 2015, Fical coached the U-16 team of EV Regensburg in the school league, before taking care of the Luxembourg club Tornado Luxembourg in the 2015/16 season . Since the 2016 World Cup , Fical has been the coach of the Luxembourg national team , which he led at the 2017 World Cup to win Division III and the associated promotion to Group B of Division II.
