Philipp Christian von Bohlen (* 22. April 1718 in Dahme , † 10. December 1794 on Lark Born ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and regimental commander in the cuirassiers .

Life

origin

He came from the old Rügen noble family von Bohlen . His parents were the Saxon captain Philipp Carl Christian von Bohlen († January 7, 1744) and NN von Hake from the Machnow family .

Military career

Bohlen began his military career in November 1734 as a cadet in Dresden . In March 1742 he switched to the Hoditz hussar regiment of the Prussian army as a cornet and advanced to secondary lieutenant in the same year . He took part in the Second Silesian War , in particular the battles of Hohenfriedberg and Kesselsdorf . In 1745 he became a first lieutenant and in 1750 the staff captain promoted. In 1755 Bohlen became captain and squadron chief . The Seven Years' War followed in which Bohlen became major in 1758 and was decorated with the order Pour le Mérite on May 1, 1759 . He took part in the battles near Prague , Kolin , Breslau , Leuthen , Hochkirch , the battles near Moys , Canth, Zuckmantel and Landshut , as well as in the relief of Kolberg . In 1767 Bohlen became lieutenant colonel and in 1770 commander of the body cuirassier regiment "von Wangenheim" . His promotion to colonel took place in 1772 and in 1775 he also became chief of the Leibcarabinierregiment . Before he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession , he was promoted to major general in August 1777 . On June 13, 1784, King Friedrich II appointed him chief of the cuirassier regiment "von Apenburg" and two days later Bohlen also became inspector general of the Lower Silesian inspection of the cavalry . The last time in 1786 he was promoted to lieutenant general with an annual allowance of 1,000 thalers . On October 3, 1787, Bohlen diminished at the instigation of King Friedrich Wilhelm II with a year-long pension of 1200 thalers.

Bohlen inherited the Lerchenborn estate (and the associated Bohlendorf) from his cousin, Colonel Balthasar Ernst von Bohlen , where he finally died.

He married on November 13, 1763 with Konstantine Henriette Countess Sandreczky and Sandraschütz (born August 2, 1743 in Breslau ; † May 5, 1814 in Koblenz ). The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Philippine Dorothea Henriette (* August 27, 1764; † 1768)
  • Charlotte Sophie Beate (March 29, 1766 - 1788)
  • Karl Christian Ferdinand (born April 18, 1767; † October 13, 1827), gentleman on Kröpelin and Lerekenhorn
