Priehetsberg is a village in the cadastral community and market town of Münzbach in the Perg district in Upper Austria . The name is one of the Slavonic traces in the Mühlviertel.

etymology

The oldest written records in connection with the village are 1217 Pruuilinsperg and 1227 albero de Pruvelinsperge. The name is a Slavic-German mixed formation with an unclear Slavic personal name from a root word * Pьrv- to * pьrvъ 'first'.

geography

The village, consisting of scattered houses, with 177 inhabitants as of January 1, 2001, is located in the west of the market town at around 340  m above sea level. A.

It borders in the south, partly separated by the Falkenauerbach, on the village of Groißing in the local and cadastral community of Arbing . In the west, Priehetsberg is separated from the cadastral municipality of Pergkirchen in the municipality of Perg by the Tobrabach. In the northwest, the village has a common border point with Pergkirchen and Altenburg in the Altenburg cadastral municipality in the municipality of Windhaag near Perg . In the north Priehetsberg borders the village Saxenegg in belonging to the municipality of Münzbach cadastral interior stone and in the Northeast, partly separated by the minor Eggerbach, the market Muenzbach and counting also the market town of Münzbach village Mollnegg .

Priehetsberg belongs to the Upper Austrian spatial units Aist-Naarn-Kuppenland . and southern Mühlviertel outskirts Individual farms mentioned by name are Falkenauer, Krenn, Priehetsberger, Pühringer and Stritzelmühle.

In addition to the Falkenauer, Mollnegger and Tobrabach streams, the Wieserbach, which drains into the Tobrabach, is mentioned as a further river.

The L1428 road, designed as a connecting road between Arbing and Münzbach, runs through the village. On the northern edge of Priehetsberg, the connecting road from Perg to Münzbach (Landstrasse L1423) was laid.

Sports

A new sports area was built on a property in Priehetsberg from 2002 to 2006, which includes two soccer fields, two fistball courts and a sports clubhouse. The responsible sports club is the Sportunion Greisinger Münzbach with the sections soccer, fistball, skiing, tennis and chess. The club's soccer team played in the national league for several years. The club's fistball team became champions on the field from 1996 in the 2nd and from 2000 in the 1st regional league and in 2002 in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the hall, the club was in 1995 in the 2nd and 1996 in the 1st regional league champions, 1998 champions in the 2nd Bundesliga and in 2000 and 2004 reached 4th place in the Bundesliga. In the 2016/17 championship season, the Heeren team became champions in the 2nd Bundesliga and has since played in Austria's top division, the 1st Bundesliga. The women are also top class in Münzbach and play on the field and in the hall in the women's Bundesliga.

Small monuments

In Priehetsberg there are several small monuments that are maintained or renewed by the respective builders or their descendants.

  • Marterl an der Arbinger Straße: It is a granite column on a stone plinth with a Christ head in the niche and reminds of a fatal accident at work when installing electricity pylons on July 18, 1955.
  • Chapel shrine from Nenning: The history of origin and the time of construction are not known. The brickwork with a gable roof and cement tiles stands on a stone base and has a niche secured with an iron grille, where a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes is located.
  • Wayside shrine at Schön: The wayside shrine erected in 1929 as thanks for the safe return from the First World War contains a statue of the Virgin Mary, a picture of the Guardian Angel and a picture of Mary's constant help. May services are held in front of the wayside shrine.
  • Picture on the house wall at the Langthaler: The picture of St.Paint painted in 1983 by Franz Hennerbichler from Pregarten. State patron Florian with flag, burning house and water bottle is on the stable wall and is protected by a glass wall.

Personalities

The following people are related to the village of Priehetsberg:

  • Michael Mayr (born November 12, 1898 - September 7, 1978) came from Wiesergut in Priehetsberg. He was ordained a priest in 1923 and was a cooperator in the parishes of Pöndorf, Friedburg-Lengau, Ostermiething and in the Urfahr parish. From 1935 to 1970 he was pastor of Schardenberg, interrupted by a local ban from 1940 to 1945. In the first year after the war he was secretary of the Diocesan Caritas. In Schardenberg he initiated the pilgrimage to the Fronwald and the Fatima Shrine. He was consistorial councilor of Linz and Vienna and an honorary citizen of Schardenberg.
  • Franz Starzer (born November 22, 1922 - † October 23, 2002) came from the Falkenauergut in Priehetsberg. After studying law, he became a state civil servant and last held the position of deputy state director until his retirement in 1988 . He was then President of the Upper Austrian Red Cross from 1988 to 1998 and then Honorary President. He was the honorary ring bearer of the KAV Bajuvaria Vienna . From his honeymoon he took in 1954 in the parish church Muenzbach established Fátima with statue.
