history

Przedmoście was first mentioned in 1295 in Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis as Prsedmoscze and already existed as a settlement in the 9th century . The place name means fortification after the German linguist Heinrich Adamy . Another possible meaning is the village in front of the bridge .

The local church was built in 1689 by the then owner of the Erbscholtisei , Heinrich Hoffmann , and over time it became the property of the political community. Above the entrance of the church is a plaque made of sandstone with the inscription Anno 1689, this work is with the permission of my gracious lordship in honor of God and the authorities and an everlasting memory of me, Heinrich Hoffmann, currently an inheritance and court mayor built by my own Expense .

Over time, Przedmoście was owned by the following lords : Balthasar von Burwitz (1664), Joh. Christ. Baron von Gillern (1730), Jos. Ant. Freiherr von Gillern (1757), Maria Franziska, widowed Freyin von Gillern, b. Countess Osteschau (1765), Friedrich Adolf von Kalckreuth (1784), Karl von Bojanowo-Bojanowsky (1792) and, most recently, Count von Hardenberg (1808).

After the First Silesian War , Przedmoście came to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1742 and was located there from 1816 to 1945 in the district of Glogau in the administrative district of Liegnitz . During the Wars of Liberation , French soldiers were quartered in Przedmoście, among whom a nervous fever broke out, from which many of the soldiers died. A separate cemetery was built for them near the place, but it was no longer recognizable in 1923. On April 2, 1813 Przedmoście burned down.

The German name of the place is Priedemost . This place name was changed to Vorbrücken in 1937 in the course of Germanization at the time of National Socialism . After the end of the Second World War and the establishment of the Oder-Neisse border , the place came to Poland on August 2, 1945; the place name was changed to Przedmoście, the German residents were expelled and the place was taken up by Polish new settlers. On June 28, 1946 Przedmoście was incorporated into Białołęka . At first the place belonged to the Wroclaw Voivodeship and then from 1950 to the Zielona Góra Voivodeship . With the introduction of the Gromada as an administrative unit, Przedmoście became independent again on October 5, 1954 and formed a Gromada with the district of Borek . On December 31, 1959, Przedmoście was incorporated into the Gromada Nosocice , which in turn was incorporated into the Gromada Krzepów on July 1, 1965 . On January 1, 1972 Krzepów was incorporated with its districts to Głogów . On January 1, 1973 there was a comprehensive territorial reform in Poland, since then Przedmoście has belonged to the rural municipality of Głogów .
