Puchberg im Machland , also designated as Puchberg bei Perg , was a cadastral community from 1784 and a local community from 1850, which extended over parts of the later expanded communities Arbing and Baumgartenberg in the Perg district in Upper Austria and was dissolved at the end of 1954.
Name-giving village and former capital was Puchberg. Since 1955, this place has belonged neither to the Puchberg cadastral community in Machlande I nor II, but to the Arbing cadastral community.
The cadastral and local community Puchberg in Machland belonged to the Arbing school district west of the Deimingerbach and to the Baumgartenberg school district east of it and fell within the jurisdiction of the Perg district court .

The cadastral and local community Puchberg im Machland with an area of 968 hectares (9.68 square kilometers) bordered in the north on Münzbach and Innernstein , in the east on Baumgartenberg and Klam , in the south on Hofstetten and in the west on Arbing . The community had 131 houses and 733 residents in the 1880s. The capital of the same name had 78 inhabitants.

From a geological and geomorphological point of view as well as aspects of the use of space, Puchberg im Machland belongs to 3 of the 41 spatial units of the federal state of Upper Austria . Small parts of the former municipal area in the plain in the south lie in the Machland spatial unit . In the north the spatial unit Aist-Naarn-Kuppenland extends to the area of Puchberg in Machland. The major part of the area is located in the southern Mühlviertel peripheral areas .
The flowing waters of the former local and cadastral community are the Falkenauerbach, Neuhauserbach, Puchbergerbach and Deimingerbach brooks , which are part of the Naarn network .
history
The local community Puchberg im Machland, created in 1850 on the area of the cadastral community created in 1784, consisted of the localities Baumgartenberg West , Deiming , Kolbing , Hehenberg , Hummelberg , Puchberg, Roisenberg and Steindl .
At the beginning of the 1920s, the local community of Puchberg im Machland, like many other communities, issued emergency money.
The law on the dissolution of the local community of Puchberg im Machland was published in State Law Gazette No. 4/1955 of January 11, 1955 and came into force on January 1, 1955.
In this context, the composition of the cadastral communities was rearranged, with the school district boundary, which runs along the Deimingerbach, forming the basis for the division.
The localities of Hummelberg and Roisenberg as well as individual farmsteads in Mollnegg and Hehenberg became the cadastral community Puchberg in Machlande I , the eponymous locality Puchberg became the cadastral community Arbing , the localities Deiming, Hehenberg and Kolbing the cadastral community Puchberg in Machlande II and the localities Baumgartenberg in the West and Steind area II Assigned to the cadastral community of Baumgartenberg .
Außenstein Castle is located between the villages of Steindl and Kolbing .
