The Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha (RTR) (previous name until December 31, 2010 Radio e Televisiun Rumantscha ^{? / I} ) is a subsidiary of the Swiss media company SRG SSR . RTR, based in Chur, is the only company for electronic media to provide the public service for the “Svizra rumantscha”, the traditional Romansh- speaking area of ​​Graubünden , one of the four language regions of Switzerland. Rhaeto-Romanic has been recognized as the national language since 1938 and as a partial official language of the federal government since 1996.

RTR has around 130 full-time positions, spread over around 160 people (2016). Beyond the actual Romansh- speaking area, the company sees itself in a "bridging function in the linguistically inconsistent Graubünden, for the Romansh diaspora throughout Switzerland and beyond the national border."

Radio Rumantsch (RR), which has existed since 1925 and was integrated into SRG in 1954, has continuously expanded its broadcasting time over the decades. Radio Rumantsch broadcasts 24 hours in Rhaeto-Romanic. Individual information programs (Rendez-vous, Echo der Zeit, Nachrichten 24.00-05.00) are taken over by Swiss Radio SRF. Radio Rumantsch's program is aimed at a wide audience: varied entertainment, local to international information, sports reports and a 24-hour music program that ranges from current popular music to hits, folk music and oldies. As a specialty, Radio Rumantsch also brings authentic music from the Svizra Rumantscha in all its shades, from choral singing to brass to pop and rock. It is not uncommon for them to be self-recordings, which can therefore be heard exclusively on Radio Rumantsch and remain accessible thanks to the RTR archive. The program is broadcast across Switzerland via DAB +. The program is also broadcast in South Tyrol via FM and DAB + via the broadcasting network of Rundfunk-Anstalt Südtirol .

The first television broadcast in Romansh was broadcast in 1963. Today Televisiun Rumantscha (TR) broadcasts his contributions in Rhaeto-Romanic on the television channel SRF 1 , such as the Telesguard (daily news ) from Monday to Friday, the Minisguard (information program for children) on Saturday and the Cuntrasts on Sunday. The programs are subtitled in German via the teletext . The Telesguard broadcast will also be repeated on SRF info and RSI LA 2 .

www.rtr.ch has been the website since 1997 with additional information on RTR's radio and television programs. Since the beginning of 2005, for example, all information programs from Radio Rumantsch and Televisiun Rumantsch have been available as audio and video broadcasts. An online editorial team has existed since 2006 and is responsible for the content of the website. The offer was expanded in 2007 with the “Battaporta” platform for young people.

Around two thirds of the Rhaeto-Romanic population use the RTR programs, the average market share of the radio program in this target group is 61% in the broadcast area (“Listener yesterday” 37%, and the trend is rising). The representative data collected from 2010 was not updated until 2013.
