Rodes K. Myers
Rodes Kirby Myers (born June 29, 1900 in Bowling Green , Kentucky - † March 10, 1960 ) was an American politician . Between 1939 and 1943 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Kentucky.
Career
Nothing is known about the youth and schooling of Rodes Myers. After studying law and being admitted to the bar, he began working in the field of criminal law. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party . In 1936, 1940, 1944, 1948 and 1956 he took part as a delegate at the respective Democratic National Conventions .
In 1939, Myers was elected Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky alongside Keen Johnson . He held this office between 1939 and 1943. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . In 1943 he ran unsuccessfully in his party's gubernatorial election. After that, he no longer appeared politically. He died on March 10, 1960.
