Eugenia Crittenden Blackburn "Crit" Luallen (born July 21, 1952 in Frankfort , Kentucky ) is an American politician . She was Lieutenant Governor of the State of Kentucky from November 13, 2014 to December 8, 2015 .

Career

Crit Luallen attended high school in her hometown of Frankfort and then studied at Center College in Danville . She then embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . Since 1974 she has worked in various positions for the Kentucky state government. She was a State Auditor between 2003 and 2012 . In November 2014, she was named the state's new lieutenant governor by Governor Steve Beshear . The office became vacant after the previous incumbent Jerry Abramson was appointed to the staff of US President Barack Obama as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs . It was Luallen's task to end the current term of office of her predecessor until the next regular election. After the election of the new Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton , her mandate expired on December 8, 2015.
