Career

society

Ross Wallace began his career in 2002 when he signed a four-year deal with Celtic Glasgow at the age of 18 . He made his debut at Celtic in the 3rd round of the Scottish League Cup in the 2002/03 season against Inverness Caledonian Thistle when he came on for Didier Agathe . In the 2002/03 season it remained with this one use. In the following 2003/04 season, the striker made his debut in the Scottish Premier League and scored his first professional goal in the game against Dunfermline Athletic in November 2003. In addition, the team manager of the Bhoys Martin O'Neill used him in the final of the Scottish Cup when he replaced him in the 3-1 win for Stephen Pearson . At the end of the season he won with Celtic the double of championship and cup. In the league, however, the attacker was only used sporadically. From the 2004/05 season, Wallace came more to play, including in three Champions League games against Shakhtar Donetsk (twice) and FC Barcelona . In the 8-1 victory in the league cup against FC Falkirk , Wallace contributed a hat trick to advance. After Gordon Strachan took over the position of team manager at the beginning of the 2005/06 season, Wallace was used as a left-back for some time , as a backup to Mohammed Camara . In the final of the Scottish League Cup 2005/06 , Wallace acted as full-back in the final victory. Together with Stanislav Varga , Wallace moved from Glasgow to Sunderland AFC in September 2006 . As a regular under Roy Keane , Wallace completed the entire season with the second division, which was very successful with promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season . With six goals in 32 league games, he was third in the team's top scorer list after David Connolly , Daryl Murphy and Grant Leadbitter . In the Premer League, Wallace was used in 21 games in 2007/08 , before he sustained a knee injury in January 2008 and stopped playing for the rest of the season. In order to get back into the rhythm from the injury, the striker was loaned to the second division Preston North End in the summer of 2008 until the end of the season . In January 2008 Wallace signed a long-term contract with the Lilienweiss of Preston . In the team, Wallace, acting as a midfielder in Darren Ferguson's system, was an absolute regular and long-running player with 41 league games. With seven goals he was also one of the most accurate players in the North End ranks after Jon Parkin , Neil Mellor and Chris Brown . Just one season later, in July 2010, Wallace signed a contract with league rivals Burnley FC . Regarded as irreplaceable in the starting XI for the first three seasons, he sustained a serious knee injury in August 2013. A few months earlier, Wallace had extended his contract with the Clarets by two years. Due to the injury, Wallace came to the Premier League on fewer minutes in the 2013/14 promotion season . After relegation from the Premier League, in the immediately following season , Wallace moved to Sheffield Wednesday .

After three years at Sheffield Wednesday, he received no new contract and joined the third division Fleetwood Town in September 2018 . In February 2020 he moved back to Scotland to FC St. Mirren .

National team

Ross Wallace denied in 2004 and 2006 two games for the U-21 from Scotland . In October 2009, graduated from Wallace also an international match under George Burley for the senior team of Bravehearts in the match against Japan in Yokohama .
