Rudolf Jäger (architect)

Rudolf Jäger (born August 9, 1903 in Altona ; † April 24, 1978 in Hamburg ) was a German architect . He must not be confused with the Austrian architect Rudolf Jäger , who worked in Vienna at the turn of the century.

Life

Jäger studied from 1924 to 1928 at the Technical University of Stuttgart and the Technical University of Berlin . After that he was u. a. worked in the construction department of the Württemberg Ministry of Finance in Stuttgart and in the office of the Hamburg architects Carl Bensel and Johann Kamps . From 1930 he worked in a shared office with Bernhard Hopp , after his death from 1962 with Johannes Gries. He specialized in building churches and is assigned to the Stuttgart School .

Jäger has been involved in the Protestant church since his youth. He already participated in the Altona Confession in January 1933 and in 1934 took part in the Barmen Confession Synod of the Confessing Church .
