Rudolf Krause (* 1964 in Karlsruhe ) is a German actor .

Life and accomplishments

Rudolf Krause was born in Karlsruhe in 1964 and lived there until he was eight years old. Then the family moved to Hanover. His music teacher made contact with the extras of the Hanover Opera House . In small roles he gained his first experience on the stage and was involved in many musical theater productions. a. with the directors Herbert Wernicke and artistic director Hans-Peter Lehmann .

He decided to study acting, which he received at the Berlin University of the Arts . He then worked for a year at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz and then at the Landesbühne Lower Saxony North in Wilhelmshaven. He then worked freelance - in Berlin, Vienna and Zurich, in drama, dance and music theater productions, a. a. at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater , the Berliner Ensemble , the Neuköllner Oper , the Fasson Theater Zurich - and more and more often in television productions.

For six years he made improvisational theater and appeared in the Chamäleon Varieté in Berlin and as a guest of the improvised theater ensemble Die Gorillas . Since then he has been teaching various forms of improvisation as well as role and scene work as a lecturer at the Michael Chekhov Studio Berlin .

He is a member of the Freyer Ensemble , the painter, director and set designer Achim Freyer and worked with him in productions at the Deutsche Oper Berlin , the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and most recently in 2013 at the Musiktheater Linz in 'Cage Stage', a project with works - and for ideas - by John Cage , together with musicians from the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and the conductor Dennis Russell Davies .

Rudolf Krause was nominated for the German Television Award in the category Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 2002 for his role as Chief Inspector André Langner in the pilot film Verdecktes Spiel in the crime series Unter Verdacht , and in 2003 together with screenwriter Alexander Adolph , director Friedemann Fromm and the actors Senta Berger and Gerd Anthoff were awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize .
