Saasdorf was named around 1150 as "Sadisdorf" and in 1378 with the name "Sozdorff" or "Sazdorf". Saasdorf was around 1378 in the area of the County of Groitzsch (castrum Groitzsch), which was combined with the Pegau escort office to form the Pegau office in 1460 . Since then, the place was in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office Pegau until 1856 . The manorial rule over Saasdorf lay with the Löbnitz manor . From 1856 the place belonged to the judicial office of Pegau and from 1875 to the district administration Borna .

On September 1, 1948, it was incorporated into Auligk , with which the place came to the Borna district in the Leipzig district in 1952, to the Borna district of Saxony in 1990 and to the Leipziger Land district in 1994 . When Auligk was incorporated into Groitzsch on January 1, 1996, Saasdorf became a part of the city of Groitzsch.
