At that time the place was in the area of the County of Groitzsch (castrum Groitzsch), which was combined with the Pegau escort office to form the Pegau office in 1460 . From then until 1856, Maltitz was in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Pegau. From 1856 the place belonged to the judicial office of Pegau and from 1875 to the district administration Borna .

On October 1, 1948, it was incorporated into Michelwitz , with which the place came to the Borna district in the Leipzig district in 1952 . Michelwitz with its three districts in turn was incorporated into Auligk on July 1, 1973 . As a district of Auligk, Maltitz was assigned to the Saxon district of Borna in 1990 and to the district of Leipziger Land in 1994 .
