San Manuel is a municipality in the Philippine province of Pangasinan and borders in the north with the province of Benguet . In 2015, the 132.5 km² area had 52,939 people, resulting in a population density of 400 inhabitants per km². Most of the people here make a living from agriculture and live in the flat southern part of the municipality. In the north the foothills of the Cordilleras begin , which are very mountainous and hardly forested. Part of the San Roque Dam also belongs to the municipality .
San Manuel was first part of Asingan from 1614 and at that time already had over 2000 inhabitants. In 1860 the place became a municipality.
