Sanne Troelsgaard Nielsen (born August 15, 1988 ) is a Danish national soccer player . The striker has played for the Danish national team and various Danish clubs since 2008 . She has been playing for FC Rosengård in Damallsvenskan since 2017 . Her twin sister Lotte was also a national player. But both were only once in the national team's starting line-up.

Career

society

Troelsgaard has played for the Danish clubs SønderjyskE , Brøndby IF , IK Skovbakken and, since 2014, KoldingQ . With Brøndby she won the cup and championship double in 2011 and 2013. In the UEFA Women's Champions League 2012/13 she played with Brøndby in the round of 32, but failed there at the Norwegian runner-up Stabæk Fotball . In the 2013/14 season , the match came again in the round of 32, this time against FC Barcelona due to the away goals rule , as after a goalless draw in Barcelona the second leg in the home stadium ended 2-2. After two and a half years at KoldingQ, she moved to Sweden in February 2017 , to FC Rosengård to replace Gaëlle Enganamouit , who had migrated to China . With Rosengård she won the Swedish Cup in 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 and the championship in 2019. In the 2016/17 UEFA Women's Champions League they failed in the quarter-finals against the women of FC Barcelona. 2017/18 was already over in the round of 16, this time after two defeats against the Chelsea Ladies . In the 2018/19 season they lost 3-2 at home in the round of 16 against Slavia Prague and could only achieve a goalless draw in Prague. Since they were only third in Damallsvenskan in 2018, they could not start in the 2019/20 UEFA Women's Champions League .

National team

In 2004 and 2005 she played nine games with the Danish U-17 team , including the Nordic Cup , in which the Danish juniors came third. Between 2005 and 2007 she played in the U-19 team. The last three games she played at the U-19 European Women's Football Championship in 2007 , but they were eliminated after the group stage. In 2009 there were two more games with the U-23 team. During this time, she made her first international match at the Aigarve Cup in 2008 in a 1-0 win against Finland on March 10, 2008 when she was substituted on in the second half and received her first yellow card 13 minutes later . Then she had to wait three months for her next assignment and then again until March 2009 for another assignment, again at the Algarve Cup, but only in one game. In the run-up to the European Championship in 2009 , she was used in three friendly games and then also nominated for the EM. At the European Championships, however, it was only used in the last group game and the Danes were eliminated as the worst group third after the group stage. After that she was used more regularly and on October 24, 2009 she scored her first two international goals in a 15-0 win against Georgia - the Danes' highest international win. Her first three-pack she scored on June 18, 2011 in a 3-0 win against Wales . Until the European Championship finals in 2013 , she was missing in only three international matches, had made 60 internationals by then and, according to UEFA, was one of the key players in the Danish team. She then expressed her optimism about the prospects for the Danish team before the European Championship. On June 30th, however, she had to cancel her participation due to a serious illness in the immediate family. The Danes then eliminated secret favorites France in the quarter-finals without their participation and only failed in the semifinals on penalties to Norway .

After the EM it was then used in all other games. A special game for her was the game against Hungary on September 25, 2013 : Her twin sister Lotte came on for her in the second half . On March 12, 2014, both were on the pitch at the same time for the first time for the first time when Lotte was substituted on in the second half in the game for fifth place against China at the 2014 Algarve Cup . Lotte was then substituted twice when Sanne was in the starting line-up and played through. On March 9, 2015, they both started together for the only time so far against Portugal at the 2015 Algarve Cup .

In qualifying for the 2017 European Women's Football Championship , she was used in all eight games, scored six goals and reached the finals with her team as the second-best group runner-up. At the European Championship finals, she was used in all six games of her team and did not miss a minute. At the beginning she scored the 1-0 winner against Belgium . In the quarter-finals they were able to defeat defending champions Germany 2-1 despite an early deficit , with their namesake Theresa scoring the winning goal. In the semi-finals, after a goalless 120 minutes on penalties , they prevailed against EM newcomer Austria . After taking the lead, they lost the final 2: 4 against hosts Netherlands .

The Netherlands was then the final destination in qualifying for the 2019 Women's World Cup . After they only finished second in the group games behind Sweden - also because they did not appear due to insufficient payments from the Danish association and the game against Sweden was then rated 0: 3 - they had to play in the playoffs of the group runners-up against the European champions and lost twice.

While Sanne has now made 142 internationals and thus played the third most internationals for Denmark, Lotte only made eight appearances between 2013 and 2015. Sanne played her 100th international match on October 22, 2016 together with her namesake Theresa Nielsen .
