Sapieniec ( German Karlsberg ) is a place in the Polish Warmia and Mazury and a living space (Przysiółek) in the district Przytuły (Przytullen , 1938-1945 Klein robes) of the rural community Pozezdrze (Poss eaters , 1938-1945 Großgarten) in węgorzewo county (district Angerburg ) .
Geographical location
Sapieniec is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship on the southwest bank of the Jezioro Piecek (Spitzing Lake) . It is twelve kilometers to the northwest to the district town of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) .
history
The small town - still written Carlsberg before 1898 - was founded in 1856. The Karlsberg estate with parts of the area in Przytullen (1938 to 1945 Kleinkutten, Polish: Przytuły ) and Klein Strengeln (Polish: Stręgielek), had a size of 192.92 hectares in 1903 and belonged to Rudolf Hundsdörfer , then to a Grohnert family and later to Gustav Färber .
Since its inception, Karlsberg part of the rural community Przytullen in District Przerwanken in district Angerburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1905 the place had 51 inhabitants.
In 1945, the place was in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and carries since then the Polish place name "Sapieniec". Today it is independent and belongs to the Schulzenamt ( Polish sołectwo ) Przytuły within the rural municipality Pozezdrze in the powiat Węgorzewski , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it belongs to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Karlsberg was parish in the Protestant Church in Kutten ( Polish: Kuty ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd Angerburg in the Diocese of Warmia until 1945 .
Today Sapieniec belongs to the Catholic parish church in Kuty in the diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The evangelical inhabitants belong to the parish Giżycko (Lötzen) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland , which has a subsidiary parish in Pozezdrze .

Sapieniec is located on a side street that branches off the Polish state road DK 63 (former German Reichsstraße 131 ) at Pozezdrze (Possessern , 1938 to 1945 Großgarten) and leads to Kuty (Kutten) . There is no train connection.
