Sidzina (German Hennersdorf , 1945–1947 kurzjów ) is a village in the rural municipality of Skoroszyce in Poland . It is located in the powiat Nyski (Neisse district) in the Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location

The Angerdorf Sidzina is located in the southwest of the historical region of Upper Silesia . The place is about six kilometers southeast of the municipality Skoroszyce , about 15 kilometers northwest of the district town Nysa and about 40 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole .

Sidzina is located in the Nizina Śląska (Silesian Plain) within the Dolina Nysy Kłodzkiej (Glatzer Neisse Valley) . The state road Droga krajowa 46 runs through the village . The Glatzer Neisse runs east of the village .

In the work Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis from the years 1295-1305, the place is first mentioned as Henrici villa . In 1369 it was mentioned as Heinrichsdorf .

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Hennersdorf and most of Silesia fell to Prussia .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community of Hennersdorf belonged to the district of Grottkau in the administrative district of Opole from 1816 . In 1845 there was a Catholic parish church, a field church, a Catholic school, a Scholtisei, a castle, a Vorwerk and 170 other houses in the village. In the same year, 1,101 people lived in Hennersdorf, four of them Protestants. In 1855, 1182 people lived in Hennersdorf. In 1865 there was a scholtisei , 29 farmers, 82 gardeners and 36 cottagers jobs . The two-class Catholic school was attended by 252 students in the same year. In 1874 the district of Hennersdorf was founded, which consisted of the rural communities of Geltendorf and Hennersdorf and the manor districts of Hennersdorf-Leipelt and Hennersdorf-Riedel. The first head of office was the manor owner and lieutenant Leipelt in Hennersdorf. In 1885 Hennersdorf had 1214 inhabitants.

In 1933 there were 1207 people in Hennersdorf and 1187 in 1939. Until the end of the war in 1945, the place belonged to the district of Grottkau .

As a result of the Second World War, Hennersdorf fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, it was first renamed Kurzjów and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. The German population was largely expelled . In 1947 the place name was changed to Sidzina . In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Nyski . In 2011 1084 people lived in the village.

Attractions

  • The Roman Catholic Church of St. Peter and Paul (Polish Kościół św. Piotra i Pawła ) had existed since the 14th century. In 1651 a stone building was built, which was expanded in 1824. The church is surrounded by a stone wall from the 17th century. The church building was placed under monument protection in 1966.
  • The pilgrimage church of the Holy Cross (Polish: Kościół Znalezienia Krzyża Świętego i Matki Boskiej Częstochowskiej ), which was built in 1873, is located on the state road to the east .
