Seven Damn Long Days (Original Title: This Is Where I Leave You ) is an American dramedy by director Shawn Levy . The film is based on the book of the same name by Jonathan Tropper . Judd Altman catches his wife red-handed in a relationship with his boss Wade Boulanger and then separates from her. During the difficult time of separation, he received the news that his father had passed away. At the funeral of their father, the four adult siblings Judd, Wendy, Phillip and Paul Altman learn from their mother Hillary about the supposed last wish of their father, who wanted the family to have a seven-day Jewish wake ( Shiv'a ). Reluctantly, the siblings agree and then have to deal with their individual fates in which the spouse, ex-partner and children are involved.
