action

Tom Leezak and Sarah McNerney meet in Los Angeles . They marry despite opposition from Sarah's wealthy family. They go on their honeymoon to Europe, where there are numerous complications. Among other things, they are arrested in Venice . In the shared cell they talk about how unsuccessful their honeymoon was.

Back in the US, Tom Leezak talks about staying in the shared cell and being kicked out of the five-star hotel. Tom's father explains to his son that a relationship always looks beautiful and harmonious only on pictures in the photo album. In between snapshots, you have to work hard on the relationship and struggle with problems. In the end, they get back together and feel that the complications during the honeymoon only increased their love.

Reviews

James Berardinelli wrote on ReelViews that the film was trying too hard to be funny. The gags are "predictable" and "mechanically played" ("mechanically executed"). He described the main actors as "B-Stars".

Roger Ebert described the comedy in the Chicago Sun-Times of January 10, 2003 as "awkward" ("ungainly") and "wittless". He criticized the script and described the main characters as a "pathetic stupid couple", which had nothing to say.

"Unimaginative comedy that merely recapitulates the usual set pieces of contemporary Hollywood entertainment and loses all credibility due to the imbalance in the cast of the leading roles."

Trivia

The Taufers Castle was used as the backdrop for a French luxury hotel, but the flag of South Tyrol (Italy) can be seen in the first scene in the courtyard of the castle .
