history

Gasthaus Brücken-Paulus in Sieglitzhof, 2012

Sieglitzhof was mentioned as "Siglazhofen" as early as the 14th century. In the Thirty Years' War Sieglitzhof was completely destroyed.

For a long time, Siegitzhof was an excursion destination for the Erlangen population. The Brücken-Paulus restaurant was very popular and was also an ex-pub for fraternities , including the Germania Erlangen fraternity .

Only after the Second World War , around 1955, was the residential development in Sieglitzhof accelerated in the wake of the strong population growth in Erlangen. The original farms that made up the community have now all been abandoned.

Town twinning

In addition to the city partnerships of Erlangen, Sieglitzhof also maintains other partnerships:

The Church of St. Theresa was completed in 1973. The consecration of the church and the parish center with the youth club Orange took place on October 20, 1973. On March 1, 1979, Sankt-Theresia was raised to an independent parish.

Monuments

The Heinrich Kirchner statue was placed on the ridge of the Sankt-Theresia-Church in 1973. Between December 2009 and 2012 another statue of Heinrich Kirchner was placed in the church. This was left on loan. The Brücken-Paulus restaurant is one of the architectural monuments .
