Rebecca Immanuel , real name Sonja Zimmer (born November 13, 1970 in Oberhausen , North Rhine-Westphalia ), is a German actress .

Life

After a stay and a high school diploma in the United States, as well as graduating from high school in Hamburg in 1991 , Rebecca Immanuel studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. She also attended the Hollywood Acting Workshop and had singing lessons for several years.

The actress gained her first camera experience with the program Jetzt geht ’s on NDR and as a presenter of the Lernexpress ( BBC ). In 1994 she took on her first role in the television production Das Schwein - A German career . In the same year she starred in the series Against the Wind . Rebecca Immanuel (then still under her real name Sonja Zimmer ) got her first leading role in Eldorado (1995) .

She also starred in Die Wilde Leni in 1996 and in 'Ne Favorable Opportunity in the cinema in 1999. Rebecca Immanuel was on television in, among others, Der Bulle von Tölz: Tod aus dem All (1999), The Streets of Berlin : Minced Meat (1998), The Castle of Horror (1998), Women Lie Better (1999), Weddings for Four ( 2001), Little Red Riding Hood (2005), You Don't Kiss Tax Officials (2006), Longing for Rimini (2007) and Katie Fforde : Festtagsstimmung (2010).

With the Edel & Starck lawyer series , in which she played a quick-witted lawyer alongside Christoph M. Ohrt from 2002 to 2005 , Immanuel became known to a wide audience. She was nominated for the German Television Prize in 2002 and received the Bavarian Television Prize in 2003 .

The collaboration with director Heiko Schier began with the tragic comedy Now it's our turn , and continued in 2011 with the anniversary episode of the Berlin crime scene Mauerpark . Schier had written the double role of the Kilian sisters especially for her. In addition to numerous episode roles in television series and television series, Immanuel has been the main character in the ARD series Die Eifel practice since 2016 .

She showed her singing skills in season 2 of The Masked Singer on ProSieben in 2020 . In the costume of the "goddess" she appeared in three live shows before she was eliminated.

Rebecca Immanuel is married and has one son (* 2010).
